In these institutions, scientists* from Fraunhofer, the universities of Augsburg, Bayreuth, the Technical University of Munich and the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences work together productively and cooperatively across faculties and universities. Our team currently consists of around 70 research assistants* and over 140 student assistants*.

FIM in Augsburg, Bayreuth & Cooperation with the TUM

The unique Bavaria-wide networking with professors from different universities enables us to bundle different competences in the field of business informatics and related interface disciplines. The joint focus is on the investigation, economic evaluation and development of innovative solutions in the following areas:FIM: Practice, Research and Teaching

You can find an 8-page research supplement on the Fraunhofer Project Group for Information Systems published in the Augsburger Allgemeine here. It provides a comprehensive (but not conclusive) overview of the diverse research activities of our project group in the field of publicly funded research projects.

We use the knowledge and skills gained in our research in applied research projects with renowned partners in practice. This enables us to develop innovative and holistic solutions for individual problems in interdisciplinary teams.

In addition, we integrate companies into our teaching activities, e.g. through guest lectures or the co-support of seminar papers. Numerous renowned practice partners also support the master’s degree programme “Finance and Information Management”, which is sponsored by the Elite Network Bavaria, and the supplementary programme “Digital Leadership Academy”, which accompanies the studies.

The knowledge gained in research and practice flows into our numerous courses in several study programmes at different universities. In this way, we provide our students with knowledge that is relevant from both a theoretical and practical point of view, enabling them to solve complex practical problems using theoretically sound methods.

Digital Leadership Academy

The Digital Leadership Academy is an additional programme for committed Master’s students who want to intensively deal with the digitisation of the economy and society beyond their studies and who want to take on leadership responsibilities in their future careers. In doing so, we draw on many years of experience in both scientifically sound work and practical research, and in bringing these two areas into harmony. This is also where more than 15 years of experience from the implementation of the CHE-awarded elite network master’s programme in Finance & Information Management come in. You can find more information about the Digital Leadership Academy here.
