The FIM in Bavaria

The Research Center Finance & Information Management is an internationally recognized research center institution with several locations in Bavaria. Together with the Project Group Business & Information Systems Engineering of the Fraunhofer FIT, we combine research, practice, and teaching in a unique way at the interface of finance management, information management, and business & information systems engineering. Currently our team consists of about 80 doctoral candidates and more than 140 research assistants.

Doubling of annual third-party funding in each case. Therefore, in the first quarter of 2017, for example, the Fraunhofer Project Group Business & Information Systems Engineering was able to generate more third-party funding than in the whole year of 2014.

Journal Business & Information Systems Engineering (BISE)
During this period, Prof. Dr. Buhl, as managing editor of the journal WIRTSCHAFTSINFORMATIK, implemented the triple strategy in order to internationalize the journal with the help of well-known sponsors. With the new formation of the English-language journal Business & Information Systems Engineering (BISE), the course was set for the successful further development of the oldest German-language business informatics journal. Bayreuth site & appointment of two new professors
Enlargement of the Project Group Business & Information Systems Engineering of Fraunhofer FIT to the Bayreuth site through the appointment of two new professors (Prof. Dr. Gilbert Fridgen and Prof. Dr. Nils Urbach) as well as the very close cooperation with Prof. Dr. Torsten Eymann.
