Application Phases & Dates
In order to ensure a high quality of supervision and to facilitate planning, the binding application for a final thesis at the Reserarch Center FIM is possible during four fixed application phases per year.

Hints & Tips
Above the date overview you will find slides for the final thesis information event, which among other things provide up-to-date information on possible topics for final theses at the Research Center Finance & Information Management (the current sets of slides will be put online after each information event).
For a success in the application are advantageous:
- A recognizable focus on the teaching content of the Research Center FIM.
- Successful completion of a basic course at the Research Center FIM in the subject area for which you are applying for your thesis.
- Successful completion of a seminar paper at the Research Center FIM before writing your final paper.
- Good to very good academic performance.
and this is how it works:
- During the application phases mentioned above, you can apply online for up to three specific subject areas from the subject pool. You can upload the required documents during the online application. The time of application within the application period is not included in the selection. In case of technical problems, please contact Lehrkoordination. Please note that this is a binding application.
- If you have your own desired topic, please apply for the subject area that most closely matches your desired topic. Individual topic arrangements are possible after a confirmation with the supervisor.
- You can choose to start working on your thesis during the exam phase or directly after the exam phase at the beginning of March (please indicate your preference at the appropriate place in the application tool).

Hereby it is expressly pointed out that when writing term papers, bachelor theses, master theses and diploma theses, it is absolutely necessary to take care to include information from the sources in the examination papers, should contents be taken from ready-made papers. If contents are identified without indication of the source, these are considered plagiarisms.
We make it clear that detected plagiarism will be strictly punished by the examination board. In particularly severe cases, the examination board will assess the entire subject for which the paper was submitted as definitively failed.
For seminar, term paper, term paper, bachelor and master theses you will find format recommendations in the Digicampus, on the website of the University Library, or on the pages of the Chairs of the University of Augsburg. The guidelines described there represent a proposal for the formal and content-related design of academic papers.
