In our research, we deal with challenging and visionary projects, often in cooperation with other renowned chairs and departments. Our projects are frequently supported by public sponsors such as the German Research Foundation (DFG) or the European Union. We are convinced that our practical orientation is beneficial to our research programs. Therefore, we cooperate closely with companies like Allianz, Deutsche Bank, Hilti, and Siemens. Such projects provide funding for most of our employees. Partnering with these companies, we develop innovative concepts based on the most current scientific findings in order to solve complex and individual problems companies face. The knowledge we gain through dealing with those problems in practice is reflected in our research and allows us to combine publicly-funded basic research and applied research in collaboration with our partners.
