Leon Haupt obtained in 2011 the Abitur at the Gymnasium to St. Stephan in Augsburg. He then began studying industrial engineering with a focus on materials science at the University of Augsburg. After graduation, Leon gained practical experience at Deloitte in the area of Energy & Resources in Munich. Afterwards he studied Sustainable Energy Systems as part of the InnoEnergy Master’s School at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Barcelona. As part of his Master’s thesis and an industrial cooperation with a Spanish distribution network operator, Leon worked on the optimization of market mechanisms of lithium-based battery systems, taking into account cyclic degradation effects. In January 2019 he began his work as a Doctoral Candidate at the Bayreuth location. There he supports the Fraunhofer Project Group Business Informatics in the Cluster Energy and Critical Infrastructures.
As part of his research activities, Leon focuses on the optimal use of battery systems.
