Laura Marcus passed her university entrance diploma at the Heinrich-Heine-Gymnasium in Munich in 2010. She then completed her Bachelor in Business Administration in cooperation with Siemens at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Ingolstadt. She was furthermore accepted into the 16th class of the Bavarian EliteAcademy, where she completed additional studies in the area of value-oriented leadership. Following this she gained practical experience in subsidiaries management at OSRAM before continuing her studies in 2015 with a master’s degree in management at the Católica-Lisbon School of Business and Economics in Portugal. After two years in project management at a FinTech start-up, she joined Celonis in 2018, where she most recently headed the Customer Strategy & Operations department. Since September 2021, she has been working as a research assistant at the FIM Research Center in Augsburg and is completing her doctorate under Prof. Maximilian Röglinger at the University of Bayreuth.

In her research, Laura Marcus focuses on topics primarily related to data-driven business process management.
