Daniel Rau studied Information Systems (Bachelor of Science) at the University of Augsburg. He then enrolled in the elite graduate program Finance & Information Management (Master of Science with honors) at the Technical University of Munich, the University of Augsburg, and the University of Bayreuth. He was furthermore accepted for the 16th class of the Bavarian EliteAcademy where he was trained in leadership in Germany, Belgium, China, and Vietnam. Daniel gained practical experience at Allianz Group (IT Strategy & Enterprise Architecture), Dr. Oetker (Finance & Controlling), A.T. Kearney (Management Consulting), and Amazon EU (Data Science & Retail Finance) in Frankfurt, Munich, and Penang/Malaysia. For a research project about digital business model innovation, he visited Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane/Australia. Beside his social involvement in various organizations, Daniel is awarded winner of the international privacy bot competition organized by Telekom AG. At the FIM Research Center and the project group Business & Information Systems Engineering of Fraunhofer FIT, he started as a research assistant in March 2012 and is a Doctoral Candidate since November 2017.
Within his research, Daniel Rau is interested in digitalization. He particularly focuses on digital business models, process innovation, customer centricity, FinTech, and data privacy.
