Katrin Wyrtki studied Information Systems (Bachelor of Science) at the University of Augsburg. She then enrolled in the elite graduate program Finance & Information Management (Master of Science with honors) at the Technical University of Munich, the University of Augsburg, and the University of Bayreuth. Katrin gained practical experience at Telefónica Germany (Network Technology), Deutsche Lufthansa (Revenue Management Development), and McKinsey & Company (Management Consulting) in Munich and Frankfurt. For a research project about opportunity driven innovation, she visited Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane/Australia. As part of her social involvement in various organizations, Katrin lived and worked in a girls’ home in Sri Lanka for three months between her bachelor and master studies. At the FIM Research Center and the project group Business & Information Systems Engineering of Fraunhofer FIT, she started as a research assistant in May 2012 and is a Doctoral Candidate since June 2018.
Within her research, Katrin Wyrtki deals with questions in the field of data-driven, value-oriented process management and with topics related to digital innovation.
