Marc-Fabian Körner graduated from Celtis Gymnasium Schweinfurt in 2011. Until 2014 he studied economics (B.A.) and philosophy (B.A.) at the University of Erfurt. Subsequently, he completed a Master’s degree in International Economics and Governance at the University of Bayreuth and at the EDHEC Business School in Lille (France). During his studies, Marc-Fabian gained insights into the work of energy suppliers as well as into the organization and functioning of the United Nations through academic exchange. Marc-Fabian also gained a great deal of experience through internships and projects in the automotive supplier and banking industries. He also worked as a journalist for one of the most renowned German publishing groups. Marc-Fabian joined the Research Center Finance & Information Management and the Project Group Business & Information Systems Engineering in Bayreuth in October 2015 as a research assistant and became a Doctoral Candidate with Prof. Fridgen in August 2018.

Within the scope of his research activities in the field of “energy and critical infrastructures”, Marc-Fabian’s research tackles various challenges in the areas of digitalization and energy systems. He has a particular focus on demand side management and on the concepts of sector coupling and smart cities.
