Matthias Babel
Curriculum Vitae
Matthias Babel completed his high school graduation in 2015 in Windsbach, Bavaria. There he spent eight years as a singer in the Windsbach Boys Choir. From 2015 to 2021 he studied computer science (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) at the University of Bayreuth. During his studies, he gained practical experience in the digitization of land registry management in a German tax office and at the IBM Deutschland GmbH. He also successfully participated in various hackathons, including the MOBI Grand Challenge, and received the career award of the DZ Bank AG for his bachelor thesis. He joined the Research Center Finance & Information Management as a studen research assistant in 2017 and joined Prof. Dr. Jens Strüker as a Doctoral Candidate in September 2021.
Main Research
With his research activities, Mr. Babel focues on evaluating the development of self-sovereign digital identities, distributed ledger technology, and general advanced methods of modern cryptography, such as zero-knowledge proofs. Furthermore, he focuses on their application in digitalization, especially digital energy management.
